I have found tonnes of useful websites during the last 2 years of planning our wedding, so I’ve decided to share that knowledge with anyone who is about to start out in the scary new world of wedding planning!
Hopefully these sites will inspire, advise and help you find what you’re looking for.

- 100 Layer Cake -I found this during the early stages of planning and read through every single real wedding, mood board and DIY post from start to finish.
- Snippet & Ink – somewhere I would regularly visit, months before I was even proposed to! Kathryn’s mood boards were the inspiration behind our colour scheme
- Green Wedding Shoes – featuring some of the most beautiful real weddings.
- Rock My Wedding – unlike a lot of wedding blogs this one is based in the UK and only features suppliers, outfits, products and accessories available to UK brides.
- Ruffled – I love every single image that goes up on this site. Pure beauty
- London-Bride – Stylish, modern and British!
- The Wedding Chicks – ♥ these guys. The website is beautiful and is full of inspiration, real weddings, DIY downloads and planning advise
- Tattybojangles Hen House – A directory of the best British vintage suppliers to help you create an amazing vintage hen party.
Advice and Support
- The Wedding Genie – Julie is a really lovely lady who has a lot of helpful tips up her sleeve! Visit her blog for regular helpful advice and some of the beautiful weddings she has helped plan.
- Wedding Ideas Magazine – A great little magazine for just £2.99. The site is jammed packed full of competitions, inspiration, advice and wedding news. They also have a forum where you can speak to like minded brides who are a great source of advice and support.
- Plans and Presents – Glasgow based Alison Tinlin works to her moto “Your Day,Your Way” Follow her on twitter for daily wedding tips
Cakes
- Blue Door Bakery – not only are her cupcakes delicious Sarah is also one of the nicest suppliers I’ve had the pleasure to work with.
- Caroline’s Cake Company – the creator of cakes so beautiful you almost don’t want to eat them… almost!
Photographers
- Deborah Stott – our wedding photographer. Deborah’s photos are outstanding. Just look at our pre-wedding shoot!
- Sara Thomas – beautiful photos and a really lovely lady too!
- Matt Davis – based in Gloucestershire, I have spent hours pouring through Matt’s blog looking in awe at every single photo he has taken.
