Ever since the new Bohemia Collection from Flo and Percy was released I have had my eye on the beautiful Wilderness Comb.
I was unsure as to whether our funds would stretch to indulge my obsession with this comb, seriously I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked at this online!
Well, when Suzie emailed me a link to Rock My Wedding who have teamed up with Flo and Percy to offer their readers unbelievably amazing discounts (70% off for the first person to order, 50% off to the second and 25% off to the third) I knew I had to try!
I sent my email to Kirstie at Flo and Percy, my heart was pounding the entire time and I was shaking! Ha, I know it sounds a bit extreme but I was nervous to know! I noticed Kirstie had left a comment on the orginial blog post saying the 70% dicsount had gone. Oh… never mind maybe I’d get the 50% off?
Then Kirstie tweeted me! I’ve got the 70% off!!
I honestly can’t believe it! I’m so excited and can’t wait to see what it looks like in real life! If you remember Suzie had the Flo and Percy Clarice Headband for her wedding and that was stunning!
Thank you Kirstie and thank you to the lovely RMW ladies for this amazing competition! x

After a very, very good night out on Friday, which resulted in 4 hours sleep and a very, very hungover Laura I attempted to pull myself together for my hair trial appointment on Saturday morning.
I told my hair dresser Jo my ideas and she went to work creating me a bridal look. She curled all my hair using the GHD straighteners. In my opinion this is the best way to create the perfect curls. The curls stayed in until I washed them out this morning.
After curling all of my hair she pulled sections back and created two french plaits that sat on the side of my head and trailed behind a layer of curls. The good thing about having the trial was we were able to see that to create a more polished look she’ll do the french plaits before curling as the curls only got damaged during the plaiting.
I have photos, but they’re not very good for a few reasons. They were taken on my phone and I look awful!
I honestly wish I had felt better, it wasn’t a wise decision to get so terribly drunk that I felt ill during the entire trial, but if I’m being honest as soon as she’d finished and I could see the finally result I actually started to feel a bit better.
On the day I think there will be more curls and it’ll look tidier. I’m also looking into having a sparkly hair vine that trails through the plaits, although I’m not sure how it’ll work!

I have my hair trial next week, which I’m really looking forward to.
I’ve been a little bit stuck describing how I want my hair on the day, I know I want it long, curly and loose. I don’t wear my hair up on a day to day basis so I don’t see why I should change that for my wedding day, but I also wanted it to look slightly different, elegant and hopefully include a few pretties!
I came across this wedding today and fell in love with the bride’s hair.
So simple, yet beautiful. I’ll definitely be taking a print out of this to my trial! I think I would probably have slightly tighter curls and I would keep my side fringe out, but I love the little twists on either side.
I’d also love to have a few sparkly pearl pins just to add the extra wow.
I’m loving these from Chez Bec
I also wonder how this would look, in just one side. From Tantrums and Tiaras
I’m going to have a look around some local bridal shops this weekend to get an idea on what will suit me best. Hopefully I’ll come away with a better idea of what I want!

I treated myself today with cute hair accessories from ASOS. I bought mine to pretty up my head for the festivals I’ll be going to in a few weeks, but they could also be used by brides or bridesmaids on a budget.

One of the things I love most about Twitter is all the new friends you make. Due to the powers of Twitter I found Pearl and Willow and the very lovely Beth. A gorgeous collection of hair accessories, necklaces, earrings, bracelets and brooches by fabulous designers such as Chez Bec, Filippa Scott, Polly Edwards and Jo Barnes.
I’ve been searching for something to wear in my hair for a while, and Pearl and Willow’s selection didn’t let me down. Problem is I have too many favourites!
All gorgeous, how can I possibly make up my mind?!

Ever since I started trying on wedding dresses and I was forced to try on tiaras and veils with the dress to “complete the look” I realised I didn’t want one.
I’m 99.9% sure I won’t be wearing either a veil or tiara on my wedding day.
It’s just not me.
As stupid as it sounds, wearing a veil and tiara conjures up images in my head of me as a little girl playing dress up.
Therefore, I want a headband that makes a statement. I love the headbands which have the detailing on the side. Flo and Percy have gorgeous accessories. Suzie wore their Clarice headband from the Gatsby collection during the evening at her wedding, which is absolutely gorgeous!
I really like their Chesire headband from their Wonderland collection
(model is a bit scary looking though!)
I’m having a real struggle at the moment finding something I’m in love with. Don’t get me wrong there are loads of gorgeous headbands out there, I just have trouble picturing them being worn. A lot of websites provide photos of the headband, but I think it really helps to have one of a model wearing it.
They have quite a few cute ones on Etsy.
This Rhinestone Headband is from TessaKim
Swarovski Rhinestone Headband from Brenda’s Bridal Veils
I like the pearls in this Heirloom side tiara headband from Glitzy Secrets
I found the Jennifer Behr
website a while ago.. she tempts me with her stunning headbands. Especially Dahlia
Want to know a secret…? I haven’t actually tried on a side headband! Yes, I could be fantasising on something that will look completely pants on. Only one thing for it, mass headband trying on session is in order!

I went to my hairdressers today to play model. They had a trainer in from GHD to teach the ladies at my salon new curling, volume and texture techniques. It was loads of fun and I actually learnt quite a bit too! I end up with 8 different types of curls all over my head by the time the training was over. Not exactly a great look!
Jo, my hairdresser tidied up my hair before I left the salon with a volumised bouncy curl. I took this picture just before going to bed so it had fallen quite a bit.
We also attended Nailcote’s Bride of the Year competition, we didn’t win but it was still a really lovely evening. The owners, Rick and Sue are such a lovely couple and put on a really nice evening for everyone. It was also great to be able to see our venue again. I haven’t been there since March last year and sitting in the room where we are actually going to get married was giving me goose pimples! 8 months 2 weeks to go!

I love the soft waves and swept fringe. Very elegant, obviously this lady is a bridesmaid
but I could possibly make it look a little more bridal with some hair candy in the form of grips, clips or slides.
I also love the gorgeous Blossom Comb and the Modern Heirloom Pins from Yarwood-White
Maybe this weekend I’ll have a go at styling my hair so I can see just what hair piece would be needed.

I had my hair appointment today, good bye roots!
As well as bringing me back to blonde, it gave me the chance to talk to Jo about having her do my hair on the morning of the wedding. She spoke to the owner for me and they have kindly agreed to open half an hour earlier for us so we’ll have a rush free hour and a half of serious hair pampering!
It makes a lot more sense for us to go to a salon, it means all of us can have our hair worked on at the same time rather than waiting for someone to finish before moving on to the next one.
I’ve told Jo my ideas about a curly side pony and she recommended a few new ideas for me to mull over. We’re also going to try out a new colour which is ammonia free, so much better for my hair.
One of the styles she mentioned was incorporating a plait into a curly side do. Similar to this but my hair would be curlier.
She’s suggested we trail out different ideas around August/September and coincide it with a dress fitting to make sure it all works together.
I’m pretty sure I’m going to be far too impatient to wait until August so I’ll be having an amateur trail at home some time soon!
All in all a very productive day! No more roots and wedding hair appointment sorted! Go me!

This Saturday I’ll be able to cross off another thing from my January to do list. Me and my roots are off to see my hairdresser Jo so I’ll be able to bring up my questions about wedding hair!
I had hoped she would be able to come to the hotel on the morning of the wedding, however for insurance reasons this isn’t possible. So me and my ladies shall be trekking out at the crack of dawn to be transformed!
Yes to make things easier I could hire a mobile hairdresser but Jo has been my hairdresser for nearly 5 years and she knows my hair. I trust her completely and to be honest I don’t think I’d be happy with anyone else.
I don’t really wear my hair up. If I’m at home, in my snugs then I’ll probably throw it in a pony tail, but other than that my hair is generally down. So it only seems right that for my wedding day my hair should be down, or at least the majority of it. To have it up in a fancy do just wouldn’t be me.
I’ve always imagined I would have long hair in loose curls, but not so normal! For our engagement party I had my hair curled. They were quite tight curls and although I love how my hair looks, most people have seen me with my hair like that. It also makes my hair look shorter than it is.
I’ve been thinking about alternative styles. A way I can have my hair that doesn’t take it too much away from my face, but is slightly different and more elegant than the norm and how I can maybe incorporate hair jewellery.
My favourite styles (and probably my only options!) at the moment are side ponies
and half up half down.
It’s quite easy to curl my hair myself, so I may have a go at seeing how the styles would suit me. I can discuss these styles with Jo and see what she thinks, but hopefully as of Saturday I’ll have sorted out the hairdresser at least!
